Thrash Metal meets Nu-Metal and Metalcore!? What? Well, whatever it is, it's going to be f***ing LOUD!!! The Destroy All Enemies Tour 2024 penultimate show with headliners, the legendary Thrash Metal band Megadeth comes to BankPlus Amphitheater on Friday, September 27th 2024. Joined by Nu metal giants, Mudvayne and, Metalcore pioneers, All That Remains, really rounds out this sonic mishmash of riffs.
Megadeth will be playing tracks from their most recent studio album, The Sick, the Dying… and the Dead! Plus, some old classics from their beloved albums Rust in Peace, Countdown to Extinction and others. Still no news on that upcoming album from Mudvayne, meanwhile, All That Remains recently dropped a brand-new track, "Divine," so anything could happen...
“Our ‘Crush The World’ tour has been a tremendous experience for the four of us,” said Megadeth lead, Dave Mustaine. “We are all playing tight, and that has made it possible for me to really focus on solos and singing, we are playing more songs than ever before, and we are closer to each other, onstage AND off. I’m excited to see Mudvayne, and All That Remains. Join us as we DESTROY ALL ENEMIES.”
The 33-date North American, Destroy All Enemies 2024 Tour, kicks off this August in Arkansas and wraps up on September 28th in Tennessee, with stops in Houston, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Charlotte, Boston, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, and Minneapolis. But not before a date here in Southaven, Mississippi's BankPlus Amphitheater on September 27th 2024.
Megadeth spends the beginning part of the year touring Central and South America performing in Peru, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and El Salvador. Before heading over to Europe and crashing into Poland, Hungary, Romania, Turkey, Greece, Italy, Belgium, France, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Netherlands, Spain and Portugal. Then, in October through November, Mexico City gets some serious Metal Thrashing with a 4-day event, Day Of The Mega Dead, celebrating both Halloween and Day Of The Dead with Megadeth!
Joining Megadeth this yer is Finnish metal guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari from the symphonic melodic death metal band, Wintersun. Teemu replaces Brazilian guitarist Kiko Loureiro and the new lineup becomes original band founder guitarist, singer and songwriter Dave Mustaine along with bassist James LoMenzo, and drummer Dirk Verbeuren.
Debuting at number 3 on the Billboard 200 and hitting number in Finland, number 2 in Australia, Poland, Switzerland and Scotland, and number 3 in the UK. The Sick, the Dying... and the Dead! has been Megadeths' highest charting album ever, and its lead single, "We'll Be Back" was nominated for Best Metal Performance at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards.
Along with Mudvayne's first headline tour in a very long time, last year, “The Psychotherapy Sessions,” the band also announced that they had been in the studio working on some new music. But since then, the Nu-Metalers' have been completely silent... hopefully something comes out soon, as we haven't had an album from them since the self-titled album, Mudvayne in 2009.
Talking of new music, New England Metalcore veterans, All That Remains dropped the brand-new single, "Divine," and it's their first new music since way back in 2018. The new track also features the bands' new lineup of frontman Philip Labonte, guitarists Jason Richardson and Mike Martin, bassist Matt Deis and drummer Anthony Barone.
